The teen driver suffered non-life-threatening injuries and was transported to a hospital.

PINELLAS COUNTY, Fla. — A dramatic crash in Clearwater left a home heavily damaged Tuesday night after a teenage driver lost control of a Dodge Durango and slammed into a residence, according to investigators.

The crash occurred around 10:00 p.m. on May 26, 2026, along South Martin Luther King Jr. Avenue near Hall Street.

Authorities say a 15-year-old male from Clearwater was driving a Dodge Durango northbound on South Martin Luther King Jr. Avenue at a high rate of speed when he lost control of the SUV.

Investigators say the vehicle departed the roadway, struck multiple traffic control devices and utility fixtures, then entered the property of 1642 South Martin Luther King Jr. Avenue.

The Durango then crashed into a residence and a parked vehicle at the location, causing extensive damage to both vehicles and the home.

Photos from the scene show the SUV partially on top of the crushed parked vehicle, with debris scattered across the property and significant structural damage to the residence.

Emergency crews responded quickly to the scene and evaluated the driver, who suffered non-life-threatening injuries. The teen was transported to an area hospital for treatment.

No other injuries were immediately reported.

The crash remains under investigation.
