Pasco County, FL. - A 7-year-old child suffered serious injuries Thursday evening after being struck by a Tesla Model 3 while operating a seated scooter in a Pasco County neighborhood, according to investigators.

The crash occurred on May 28, 2026, at approximately 8:15 p.m. in the 17800 block of Cloudless Bliss Drive, east of Skybrooke Boulevard.

Investigators said a 45-year-old Riverview man was driving a Tesla Model 3 westbound on Cloudless Bliss Drive when the collision occurred. At the same time, a 7-year-old boy from Lutz was operating a Razor Crazy Cart Shuffle seated scooter in the area.

According to the preliminary investigation, the Tesla driver failed to observe the child and collided with the scooter.

Authorities emphasized that the Tesla was not operating in Autopilot mode at the time of the crash.

The child sustained serious injuries and was transported by emergency crews to a local hospital for treatment. No updates on his condition have been released.

The circumstances leading up to the collision remain under investigation.
