67-Year-Old Bicyclist Killed in Orange County Crash Involving SUV, Florida Highway Patrol Says

Orange County, FL. - A 67-year-old Orlando man riding a bicycle was killed Friday night after a crash involving an SUV in Orange County, according to the Florida Highway Patrol.

Troopers say the crash happened at approximately 7:44 p.m. on May 15, 2026, at the intersection of Shader Road and Orange Blossom Trail.

According to investigators, a 2023 Kia Telluride was traveling eastbound on Shader Road west of Orange Blossom Trail when the bicyclist was traveling westbound in the eastbound travel lane, directly in the path of the SUV.

FHP says the SUV struck the bicyclist.

The bicyclist, identified only as a 67-year-old Orlando man, was transported to AdventHealth Orlando, where he was later pronounced deceased.

The driver of the Kia, an 18-year-old Orlando man, along with two 18-year-old female passengers, were not injured and remained at the scene. Troopers said all occupants in the vehicle were wearing seatbelts.

The crash remains under investigation by the Florida Highway Patrol.
