OSCEOLA COUNTY, Fla. — The Osceola County Sheriff’s Office is teaming up with the Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA) to host the upcoming National Prescription Drug Take Back Day, encouraging residents to safely dispose of unused or expired medications.

The event will take place on Saturday, April 25, 2026, from 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m., offering the community a convenient and responsible way to get rid of unwanted medications.

Residents can drop off medications at the following locations:

📍 Osceola County Sheriff’s Office
2601 E. Irlo Bronson Memorial Hwy, Kissimmee, FL 34744

📍 HCA Florida Poinciana Hospital
325 Cypress Pkwy, Kissimmee, FL 34759

Officials say the initiative plays a critical role in preventing prescription drug misuse and abuse, while also helping protect the environment through proper disposal methods.

The event accepts a variety of items, including prescription medications, over-the-counter drugs, vitamins, ointments, patches, and even pet medications. However, syringes and needles will not be accepted.

Sheriff Christopher A. Blackmon is encouraging the community to participate, emphasizing the importance of keeping potentially dangerous medications out of the wrong hands.

“This is a simple step that can make a big difference in keeping our community safe and healthy,” officials say.

Residents are urged to take advantage of this opportunity to clean out their medicine cabinets and dispose of medications safely and responsibly.
