Officials say the mission is simple: get drivers to stop for pedestrians — something that is not only courteous, but required by law.
During the operation, deputies issued 10 citations and 10 written warnings for violations related to failing to yield at crosswalks.
Law enforcement emphasized that these enforcement efforts are about more than tickets — they are about preventing accidents and saving lives, especially in areas where pedestrian traffic is high.
The Osceola County Sheriff’s Office partnered with Best Foot Forward and other agencies for the initiative, continuing a long-standing effort to raise awareness and improve roadway safety across the community.
Officials also thanked Positively Osceola for helping capture and share moments from the operation to keep the public informed.
Deputies are reminding everyone behind the wheel to stay alert and always yield to pedestrians at crosswalks.
