One Killed in Two-Vehicle Crash at Warner and Islands Drive in Gilbert

Gilbert, AZ - A deadly crash is under investigation in Gilbert after a two-vehicle collision left one person dead Thursday evening.

According to authorities, the crash occurred just before 5:00 p.m. at the intersection of West Warner Road and South Islands Drive West. The incident involved two passenger vehicles, both driven by adults.

Emergency crews responded to the scene and transported one of the drivers to a nearby hospital. Despite lifesaving efforts, that individual was later pronounced deceased. The identity of the victim has not yet been released.

The second driver involved in the crash sustained non-life-threatening injuries and sought treatment at a local urgent care facility.

The Gilbert Police Department Traffic Reconstruction Team is actively investigating the circumstances surrounding the collision to determine what led up to the crash.

Road restrictions remain in place in the area as investigators continue their work, and drivers are urged to avoid the intersection or expect delays.
