Osceola County, FL - A tragic head-on collision late Wednesday night in Osceola County has left two drivers dead, according to the Florida Highway Patrol.
Troopers say the crash occurred at approximately 11:40 p.m. on March 18, 2026, along State Road 60 near Mae Bass Road.
According to investigators, a 2014 Honda CR-V traveling eastbound attempted to overtake traffic and entered the westbound lane. At the same time, a 2003 Dodge Ram pickup truck was traveling westbound in the same area.
The Honda entered directly into the path of the pickup truck, resulting in a violent head-on collision between the two vehicles.
The driver of the Honda, a 54-year-old man from Tampa, and the driver of the pickup truck, a 52-year-old man from Greenacres City, were both pronounced deceased at the scene.
Authorities confirmed that the driver of the Honda was wearing a seatbelt at the time of the crash. The driver of the pickup truck was not wearing a seatbelt, according to the report.
Next of kin has been notified for one of the victims, while notification for the second driver was still pending at the time of the release.
The Florida Highway Patrol’s Traffic Homicide Investigation Unit is actively working to determine the full circumstances surrounding the crash.
