Update – 1:20 PM: Authorities report a confirmed hit on the suspicious package during the investigation. The Fire Marshal has been dispatched to the scene, and the bomb squad has also been called in as crews continue to assess the situation.

DAVENPORT, Fla. — Emergency crews are responding to a reported bomb threat at the Cinépolis Luxury Cinemas IMAX Polk theater located at 5500 Grandview Parkway in Davenport Saturday afternoon.

According to Polk County Fire Rescue dispatch information, units were sent to the theater shortly after 12:24 p.m.following reports of a possible bomb threat at the entertainment complex.

Multiple emergency units were assigned to the call and responded to the area, including:

Authorities say crews conducted searches of the Cinépolis movie theater as well as the nearby Ashley Furniture store as part of the investigation into the threat.

Officials have not yet released details about the nature of the threat, whether any suspicious devices were located, or if any evacuations occurred during the incident.

The theater is located inside a busy shopping and entertainment district along Grandview Parkway, which typically sees significant weekend traffic from moviegoers and nearby businesses.

Law enforcement and fire rescue personnel worked to secure the area while crews searched the buildings.

At this time, no injuries have been reported.
