Pickup Truck Slams Into Palm Tree, Shuts Down Celebration Blvd Near Windsor Cay Resort

CELEBRATION, Fla. — A serious crash sent a pickup truck head-on into a palm tree Friday afternoon in Celebration, causing injuries and major traffic disruptions.

The crash happened around 3:30 p.m. at 1420 Celebration Blvd., directly in front of Windsor Cay Resort. According to officials, the pickup truck struck the palm tree with enough force to split it in half, sending the top portion crashing onto the sidewalk and blocking the pedestrian path.

Osceola County Sheriff’s Office and Osceola County Fire Rescue responded to the scene and blocked the westbound lanes of Celebration Blvd. The far right lane remains partially closed as crews continue working the incident.

One patient was transported to AdventHealth Celebration with injuries described as unknown at this time.

The Florida Highway Patrol also responded and later released the Sheriff’s Office once they arrived on scene.

As of 4:30 p.m., the scene remains active with traffic impacts ongoing.
