Motorcyclist Killed in Collision on Broadway Road in Mesa

MESA, AZ — A deadly collision involving a motorcycle and an SUV has shut down a major stretch of Broadway Road and Country Club in Mesa Sunday night.

According to Detective Dreyer with the Mesa Police Department, preliminary information indicates a vehicle and a motorcycle collided, resulting in at least one fatality at the scene.

Investigators later confirmed the motorcyclist was pronounced deceased. No injuries were reported from the occupants of the SUV involved in the crash.

Both eastbound and westbound lanes of Broadway Road remain restricted as detectives conduct an on-scene investigation. Authorities say the area will be blocked off for an extended period of time while evidence is documented and the cause of the crash is determined.

Detectives remain on scene, and officials do not anticipate releasing additional details later tonight.

Motorists are urged to avoid the area and seek alternate routes.
