Motorcyclist Killed in Late-Night Crash in Davenport
DAVENPORT, Fla. — Authorities have released final details in a deadly two-vehicle crash that occurred Saturday night in northeast Polk County, claiming the life of an Osceola County man.
According to the Polk County Sheriff’s Office, the crash happened around 9:02 p.m. on Saturday, January 24, 2026, along westbound Ronald Reagan Parkway, just west of Thousand Oaks Boulevard in the Loughman area.

Deputies and Polk County Fire Rescue arrived on scene and located 41-year-old Reinaldo Lopez, Jr. of Poinciana, who was pronounced deceased at the scene. Investigators say Lopez was operating a 2005 Suzuki motorcycle and was wearing a helmet at the time of the crash.
The second vehicle involved was a 2015 Mercedes-Benz sedan driven by 30-year-old Melissa Soberanis of Davenport. A passenger in the vehicle, 25-year-old Sihomaris Seise of Winter Garden, was also inside the car. Both women were wearing seatbelts and were not injured.
Based on the preliminary investigation by the Sheriff’s Office Traffic Homicide Unit, detectives determined that Lopez was traveling westbound on Ronald Reagan Parkway when the Mercedes, which had been traveling eastbound, attempted a U-turn at Thousand Oaks Boulevard to head west. During the maneuver, the Mercedes entered the path of the motorcycle, causing the collision.
Ronald Reagan Parkway remained closed for approximately three hours while investigators processed the scene and conducted their investigation. The roadway was fully reopened around 12:40 a.m. Sunday.
At this time, investigators say speed does not appear to have been a factor, and criminal charges are not expected. However, the crash investigation remains open.
iSkyNews.com extends its condolences to the family and loved ones of Mr. Lopez during this difficult time.
