“This Was a Random, Tragic Act”: Families Speak After Three Men Are Killed in Kissimmee

Kissimmee, Florida — The families of three men who were fatally shot in Kissimmee have released a joint statement confirming their deaths and requesting privacy as they grieve a sudden and devastating loss.

The victims were identified as Douglas Kraft of Columbus, Ohio; Robert Kraft of Holland, Michigan; and James Puchan of Galena, Ohio. The men were longtime friends who had traveled to Central Florida to attend the Mecum Car Show and were staying together at an Airbnb in Kissimmee.

According to the families’ statement, the men were experiencing rental car trouble and preparing to travel home when they were unknowingly being observed from a distance by an individual known to local law enforcement. The families emphasized there were no prior interactions between the victims and the suspect before the incident.

“They were then approached and senselessly murdered,” the statement reads. “This was a random, tragic act.”

The families described the men as beloved husbands, fathers, grandfathers, uncles, brothers, and friends, saying the loss is unexpected and unimaginable.

“These three wonderful men did not deserve this,” the statement continued. “Our families are left with a loss that cannot be put into words. We ask for privacy, prayers, and respect as we mourn and begin to process this tragedy.”

The families also expressed gratitude for the swift response and ongoing efforts by local law enforcement, detectives, medical examiners, and assisting state agencies involved in the investigation. They stated that any additional details will be shared by the families or official representatives when appropriate.

At this time, there are no further comments from the families. Information regarding memorial services will be released once available.
