Bicyclist Seriously Injured After Being Struck by Vehicle in Chandler

CHANDLER, Ariz. — A serious vehicle versus bicycle crash triggered a large emergency response late Sunday morning in Chandler.

According to information available at the scene, Chandler Police and Chandler Fire Department were dispatched at approximately 11:30 a.m. on Sunday, December 14, to a collision involving a vehicle and a bicyclist near South Cooper Road and East Kaibab Place.

First responders arrived to find a bicyclist injured following the crash. At least one person was transported to a local hospital for treatment. The individual’s condition has not been released.

Police temporarily restricted traffic in the area as crews worked to secure the scene and conduct their investigation. Multiple police units and a fire engine were observed lining the roadway while responders assessed the situation and gathered information.
