Kroger Delivery Ending in Florida and Oklahoma City Early Next Year

CINCINNATI — Grocery giant Kroger has announced it will end its direct home-delivery service in Florida and the Oklahoma City metro area, with the final day of deliveries set for January 31, 2026.

Customers in both regions received notifications this week informing them that Kroger’s dedicated delivery operations will shut down as the company restructures its e-commerce strategy. The move affects thousands of customers who relied on Kroger’s refrigerated-truck delivery model and automated fulfillment network.

Kroger said the decision follows a broad internal review of its delivery infrastructure. The company has spent years expanding high-tech fulfillment centers designed to support statewide delivery networks, but several of those facilities have reportedly underperformed. As part of the transition, Kroger is shifting toward using third-party delivery services such as Instacart, DoorDash, and Uber Eats for areas where in-house operations have not proven cost-effective.

Verification Note:
iSkyNews.com has confirmed this notice is authentic. Kroger has sent the same statement by email to delivery customers in Florida and Oklahoma City, advising that delivery service will end on February 1, 2026, with orders still accepted through January 31, 2026. Multiple local and national outlets have also reported the shutdown and referenced the same customer letter.

Impact Across Florida and Oklahoma City

In Florida, Kroger will wind down operations tied to its central fulfillment hub and its smaller “spoke” distribution sites that handled local routing. Deliveries will continue through the end of January, but once the shutdown is complete, service will no longer be available anywhere in the state.

In Oklahoma City, a similar process is underway. Residents were notified that Kroger delivery will end on the same timeline, and the automated fulfillment center there will close as part of the exit.

The company confirmed that “Boost” memberships — the subscription service offering waived delivery fees — will automatically end no later than January 31 and will not be eligible for renewal in the affected markets.

The closures impact both customers and staff. Each fulfillment operation supported hundreds of jobs, and Kroger has begun notifying employees of upcoming changes. In both states, customers will be offered unlimited-use free delivery coupons valid until the shutdown date as a final courtesy.

What’s Next

Kroger emphasized that it plans to continue offering delivery nationwide, but increasingly through partnerships rather than its own dedicated truck fleet. The company says focusing on markets with stronger density and shifting to third-party logistics elsewhere will make its online operations more sustainable moving forward.

Customers in Florida and Oklahoma City can continue placing delivery orders until January 31, 2026.
