Mesa, AZ (iSkyNews.com) — At approximately 8:45 PM, Mesa Fire and Police responded to reports of a working house fire near 4012 E Hale Circle. According to officials, the 911 caller reported smoke and flames coming from the bathroom, prompting a rapid response from multiple units.
When crews arrived, smoke was seen pouring from a second-story window. The call was quickly upgraded to a “working fire,” bringing in additional resources including Mesa Fire Utility truck, extra fire engines, a ladder truck, and City of Mesa Gas.
Firefighters determined the fire originated in a second-floor bathroom, possibly involving the exhaust fan, and were able to extinguish the flames quickly before they spread throughout the home. Smoke alarms were sounding, helping alert the residents.
A total of ten people were safely evacuated, and no injuries were reported. Crews worked to secure the home and ensure no hidden hot spots remained. Mesa Fire and Mesa Police remain on scene as of 9:40 PM to assist with traffic control and safety.
Due to the response, both northbound and southbound lanes of 40th Street are closed at Hale Circle. Drivers are urged to avoid the area.
