Vehicle Overturns in Gilbert Crash, Drawing Major Fire and Police Response

GILBERT, Ariz. (iSkyNews.com) — At approximately 1:00 p.m., Gilbert Fire and Rescue and Gilbert Police responded to a “2-in-1 Medical” vehicle accident near 1600 S. Higley Rd.

A “2-in-1 Medical” is a dispatch term used when multiple patients are involved in a single incident — typically requiring additional fire and medical resources to respond for triage and transport.

Upon arrival, firefighters discovered two vehicles involved, with one vehicle on its side. Crews quickly began triage and assessed two patients at the scene. Fortunately, no mechanical extrication (cutting or prying open a vehicle to remove trapped occupants) was required.

Gilbert Fire secured all vehicle hazards and dangers, ensuring the scene was safe for both patients and responders. By 1:14 p.m., all vehicle hazards were secured. All patients were evaluated at the scene, and all refused transport. No one was transported to the hospital.

Both Gilbert Fire and Police remained on scene to investigate and clear the area. Motorists are urged to use caution when traveling through the area as traffic may have been temporarily impacted during the response.

Thank you to our first responders who keep us safe every day.
