Osceola County Detectives Clarify Weekend Incident — Not a Kidnapping, Investigation Ongoing

KISSIMMEE, FL — After further investigation, detectives with the Osceola County Sheriff’s Office (OCSO) have clarified that the incident initially reported over the weekend as a possible kidnapping is not being classified as a kidnapping at this time.

According to investigators, evidence gathered so far indicates that a battery occurred involving a female victim inside a vehicle, but the event does not currently meet the criteria for a kidnapping charge. Detectives are continuing to investigate to determine whether the case may rise to the level of false imprisonment.

The incident occurred during the early morning hours of October 18, 2025, near the intersection of E. Irlo Bronson Memorial Highway and Cross Prairie Parkway. The victim reported that a Hispanic male in his early to mid-30s, driving a silver SUV, offered her a ride while she was walking near the area. Believing the man to be a rideshare driver, the victim entered the vehicle.

During the drive, the suspect allegedly made inappropriate sexual remarks and refused to let her exit the vehicle. The victim began to panic, attempting to open the passenger door to escape. The suspect reportedly increased his speed as she did so, causing her to fall from the moving vehicle. She suffered injuries consistent with being ejected from a moving car and was later treated for those wounds.

Detectives have not yet located the suspect or the vehicle and are working to identify the man depicted in the previously released composite sketch

OCSO stated they will re-interview the victim for additional details as the investigation progresses.

Anyone with information regarding this incident or the suspect’s identity is urged to contact the Osceola County Sheriff’s Office or Crimeline at 1-800-423-TIPS (8477).
