Armed Standoff and Hostage Crisis Unfold at Heritage Park Inn in Osceola County

OSCEOLA COUNTY, FL — A tense hostage situation is unfolding at the Heritage Park Inn, located at 2050 E. Irlo Bronson Memorial Highway, after an altercation escalated late Sunday morning.
According to the Osceola County Sheriff’s Office (OCSO), deputies received a call just before noon regarding a domestic situation inside one of the motel rooms. Officials say two men got into a physical altercation, during which one of the men allegedly threatened to harm the other. The victim was able to leave the room, but the suspect then took a female hostage and barricaded himself inside.

At this time, investigators have not confirmed the relationship between the suspect and the female being held.
Osceola deputies and SWAT team members quickly responded to the scene and established a secure perimeter around the motel. Negotiators from OCSO are currently in active communication with the suspect, working toward a peaceful resolution.
Law enforcement has designated a media staging area across the street at 2037 E. Irlo Bronson Memorial Highway, and officials have stated that media and the public are not permitted on the Heritage Park Inn property due to the ongoing situation.
This remains an active hostage scene, and residents are urged to avoid the area while law enforcement continues negotiations.
