Orlando Man in Stolen Car Captured After High-Speed Chase Across Polk County
POLK COUNTY, Fla. — What started as a stolen car report in Orlando ended in a high-speed pursuit through Polk County Thursday night — with deputies racing down the Polk Parkway and a PCSO helicopter tracking from above as the suspect tried desperately to escape.
According to the Polk County Sheriff’s Office, around 10:30 p.m. on September 25, 2025, deputies spotted a 2021 Kia Forte reported stolen the day before out of Orlando speeding westbound on I-4 near Champions Gate.
When deputies attempted to pull the vehicle over near the Polk Parkway, the driver — later identified as 26-year-old Tyrese Marshall of Orlando — hit the gas and took off, reaching speeds of up to 120 miles per hour as he tore down the highway in a reckless attempt to outrun the law.
“He Wasn’t Getting Away Tonight.”
With danger mounting and speeds climbing, PCSO’s Aviation Unit joined the chase, tracking the suspect’s every move from the air as ground units closed in below.
Moments later, as the stolen Kia approached the Polk Parkway and Winter Lake Road, deputies on the ground deployed stop sticks, shredding the car’s passenger-side tires. Still, Marshall refused to surrender, continuing to push the damaged vehicle forward.
That’s when one deputy ended the chase with precision — performing a textbook PIT maneuver that sent the Kia spinning to a stop. Within seconds, Marshall was surrounded and taken into custody.
From Orlando to Polk — and Straight to Jail
Marshall’s reckless flight from justice came to a screeching halt as he was booked into the Sheriff’s Processing Center, charged with:
- Grand Theft Motor Vehicle (F3)
- Fleeing to Elude (F2)
- Driving While License Suspended/Revoked (Misdemeanor)
No injuries were reported during the pursuit — thanks to what Sheriff Grady Judd called “smart, coordinated teamwork” between patrol deputies and aviation.
“He thought he could outrun the deputies — and even the helicopter. But in Polk County, that doesn’t happen,” Judd said. “If you steal a car and drive recklessly through our county, we will find you, and we will arrest you. Period.”
The once-stolen Kia now sits disabled — and its driver sits behind bars.
