TEMPE, AZ – Tempe Police have arrested a 26-year-old man in connection with an indecent exposure incident that occurred earlier this month at a local car wash.
Joshua Curtis, 26, was taken into custody on August 26, 2025, and faces charges of indecent exposure and public sexual indecency. The arrest stems from an incident on August 2, 2025, at the Cobblestone Car Wash near West Baseline Road and South Kyrene Road.
According to police reports, Curtis pulled his vehicle next to a woman's car at approximately 8 a.m. He allegedly asked the victim if she "wanted to see something" before intentionally exposing his genitals. The victim immediately reported the incident to authorities.
Tempe Police detectives launched an investigation, reviewing surveillance footage from the car wash. The video captured the license plate of Curtis’s vehicle, which provided a crucial lead. Detectives used this information to identify and locate Curtis. During an interview, Curtis reportedly confessed to the crime.
Curtis has been charged with two Class 1 misdemeanors:
Indecent Exposure (ARS 13-1402 A) and Public Sexual Indecency (ARS 13-1403 A1). The Tempe Police Department stated it is committed to holding individuals responsible for such actions and will continue to thoroughly investigate these types of incidents.
