Mesa, AZ — The Mesa Police Department has issued an urgent alert for 85-year-old Ascencion Olea-Torrez, who vanished this morning, August 27th, 2025, near the intersection of Alma School Road and Main Street. Family members and investigators are deeply concerned for his safety, citing his age and memory-related medical condition.

Ascencion was last seen around 7:00 AM wearing a short-sleeved white shirt with blue stripes, black pants, and prescription glasses. He was reportedly carrying a plastic grocery bag and walking on foot when he failed to return home.

Described as a Hispanic male with white hair and brown eyes, Ascencion stands 5'6" tall and weighs approximately 140 pounds. His family reports that he suffers from dementia, heightening the urgency of locating him quickly.

Mesa PD’s Missing Persons Unit is actively investigating and urges anyone who may have seen Ascencion or has information about his whereabouts to contact Investigator Vega at 480-644-2211. The case number is 2025188484.

“Time is critical in cases involving vulnerable adults,” said a spokesperson from the department. “We’re asking the community to stay alert and help bring Ascencion home safely.”
