Mesa, AZ — Mesa Police have arrested Ashley Lutton, a 39-year-old employee at a juvenile inpatient drug rehabilitation facility, on multiple felony charges including Drug Sales to Minors and Child Abuse following a disturbing incident involving a 17-year-old former patient.
According to police, the investigation began on August 22, just before 5:30 p.m., when officers received a report alleging that Lutton had offered to sell Adderall to the teenager, who had recently been discharged from the facility. The boy’s mother discovered a series of text messages between her son and Lutton, which revealed not only an offer to sell prescription drugs, but also Lutton’s request for fentanyl and OxyContin from the teen.
Lutton reportedly arrived at the boy’s home shortly after the exchange but fled when confronted.
Mesa Police quickly confirmed Lutton’s residence and vehicle, obtained surveillance footage, and secured a search warrant. On August 24, officers arrested Lutton and conducted a search of her apartment and vehicle, uncovering drugs packaged for sale and multiple firearms.
Lutton has been booked into jail on eight felony charges, including:
- Drug Sales to Minors
- Dangerous Drug Sales
- Child Abuse
- Additional drug-related offenses
She is currently being held on a $10,000 bond.
Mesa Police have not released the name of the facility where Lutton was employed, and the investigation remains ongoing. Authorities are urging anyone with additional information to contact Mesa PD’s non-emergency line at (480) 644-2211.
