Mesa, AZ — Mesa Fire & Medical crews responded to a hazardous situation Wednesday afternoon at The Taco Spot, located at 2235 S Power Rd in southeast Mesa.

The incident began around 12:10 p.m. MST, when a 911 caller reported a possible fentanyl exposure after using the restaurant’s restroom. According to Mesa Fire officials, the nature of the report prompted an immediate escalation to a Hazardous Response, with additional units dispatched to the scene.

Emergency personnel arrived swiftly, evaluated the individual, and administered treatment on-site. The patient declined transport to the hospital, opting instead to remain at the location.

As of 12:50 p.m., Mesa Fire crews were still actively investigating the situation. No further exposures have been reported, and the restaurant remains under assessment while responders determine the source and scope of the potential hazard.

Mesa Fire & Medical has not yet confirmed whether any substances were found, and no other injuries have been reported. The Taco Spot location is one of several across Arizona, known for its award-winning menu and community presence.

Updates will follow as more information becomes available from Mesa Fire & Medical and local authorities.
