TONTO NATIONAL FOREST, AZ — The Maricopa County Sheriff’s Office (MCSO) is asking for the public’s help following a fatal hit-and-run collision that occurred early Sunday morning in the Lower Sycamore Creek OHV Recreational Area, located within the Tonto National Forest.

🕒 Incident Details 

 At approximately 3:30 a.m., an unknown vehicle—believed to be a silver or gray SUVsideswiped a parked vehicle and then struck a pedestrian, fatally injuring the victim before fleeing the scene. The crash occurred near the popular off-road trails, a destination known for weekend camping and OHV activity.

🔍 Vehicle Description & Damage

Investigators say the suspect vehicle likely sustained visible damage to the front end, right side, and possibly the front bumper, grill, undercarriage, and hood. Evidence recovered at the scene suggests the impact was severe, and the vehicle may still be showing signs of collision damage.
