EAST VALLEY, Ariz. – If you have noticed a haze in the air or caught the faint scent of smoke today, you are not alone.
According to the Fountain Hills Fire Department, the smoke visible over parts of the town is drifting in from various wildfires burning across Arizona, as well as a new blaze in the Tonto National Forest near Bush Highway and Usery Pass Road.
The U.S. Forest Service–Tonto National Forest is actively responding to the incident. Officials confirmed there is no current threat to the Town of Fountain Hills, but conditions may cause periods of reduced air quality in surrounding East Valley communities.

Residents are encouraged to limit prolonged outdoor activity if they are sensitive to smoke and to keep windows closed to reduce indoor air contamination.
