CHANDLER, Ariz. — According to the Arizona Department of Public Safety (AZDPS), a dangerous high-speed chase ended with the arrest of a driver after law enforcement teamwork across county lines.
Authorities say Pinal County deputies were initially in pursuit of a black BMW traveling at speeds exceeding 140 miles per hour. Deputies eventually lost visual of the vehicle and issued an “attempt to locate” broadcast to surrounding agencies.
Highway Patrol State Troopers from District 6 Metro South quickly stepped in and located the suspect vehicle parked at a hotel in Chandler. The driver was positively identified by law enforcement and taken into custody without further incident.
The driver was booked into the Pinal County Jail on charges of:
- Felony flight
- Criminal speed
- Reckless driving
In addition, the BMW was impounded as part of the case.
AZDPS emphasized that felony flight, criminal speeding, and reckless driving all carry serious consequences, including jail time.
Authorities praised the coordinated effort between Pinal County and DPS troopers, reminding drivers to slow down and make safe choices on Arizona roadways.
