Police Seek Public Help in District 6 Homicide Investigation
Gila River Indian Community, AZ — The Gila River Police Department is asking for the public’s help in solving the fatal shooting of 39-year-old Mark Carrillo, a Native American resident of District 6.
Carrillo’s body was discovered on Wednesday, June 25, 2025, around 2:30 p.m., in the front yard of a home near Beltline Road and Gila Crossing. Authorities believe he was shot during the late hours of Tuesday night, June 24.
According to police, Carrillo was a familiar figure in the neighborhood—often walking shirtless through the area. Investigators hope that members of the community might recall seeing or hearing something unusual on the night in question.
