Authorities in Mesa are asking for the public’s assistance in locating 14-year-old Damarius James McElroy, who was reported missing after leaving his residence on foot Thursday afternoon.
According to the Mesa Police Department, Damarius was last seen around 1:00 PM on July 13 near Signal Butte and Broadway Roads. He is described as an African American male, standing 5 feet 7 inches tall, weighing approximately 240 pounds, with black and red hair and brown eyes. At the time of his disappearance, he was wearing a black T-shirt and shorts.
Police have classified Damarius as a missing/runaway juvenile and are working with the National Center for Missing & Exploited Children to circulate his information statewide. The case has been assigned to Investigator Newpower (#25576) of the department’s Missing Persons Unit.
Anyone with information about Damarius’s whereabouts is urged to contact the Mesa Police Department at 480-644-2211, which is staffed 24 hours a day. The case reference number is 2025-152569.
Mesa authorities emphasize that even small tips can be crucial in locating missing youth. “If you’ve seen Damarius or have any information that could help, please reach out,” the department said in a statement.
