Fire Contained at Del Rio Lodge in Mesa

Mesa, AZ — A late-night fire at the Del Rio Lodge, located at 2200 W. Main Street, prompted a swift and coordinated response from Mesa Fire & Medical on Sunday, July 6th. Dispatched at 11:38 p.m., crews arrived on scene to find an active fire at the motel, which offers furnished studio accommodations with monthly utilities included.

Mesa Fire & Medical requested SRP and Southwest Gas to assist, while also calling for the temporary suspension of Valley Metro Light Rail service due to the incident’s location. Traffic on westbound Main Street at Dobson Road was shut down, with officials urging drivers to detour via University Drive or Broadway Road.

Mesa Police joined emergency personnel on site. One patient refused treatment on scene, with no additional injuries reported. The fire was declared out at 11:53 p.m., though firefighters remain present, investigating the cause of the blaze and assessing the extent of the damage.

At this time the fire has been put out and units will begin going back in service.
