A major injury crash has shut down State Route 87 (SR-87) Northbound near milepost 206 at the Great Western Trail, prompting a full-scale emergency response and air medical evacuation.
📍 Crash Location:
The collision occurred along a mountainous stretch of SR-87 between N SR-87 Cross Hwy and FH 68, north of Fountain Hills. This remote and curving section of highway is known for limited shoulders and reduced visibility.

Two individuals were trapped inside the wreckage and required extrication by emergency personnel. According to fire officials:
