OSCEOLA COUNTY, Fla. — After nearly three years of giving back to the Osceola County community, Osceola Response Team Executive Director Richard Herr is taking on a new role serving the county.
Herr, who leads the local nonprofit Osceola Response Team, was appointed to the Osceola County Code Enforcement Board on July 20, 2026, by Commissioner Cheryl Grieb.
The appointment marks another chapter of community service for Herr, who has spent the past several years working with residents and responding to needs throughout Osceola County.
“Tonight I was appointed to the Osceola County Code Enforcement Board,” Herr said following his appointment. “I would like to say thank you to the community and the county for believing in me.”
Herr said his work over the past several years has been driven by a desire to help the community he calls home.
“For the last 2 1/2 years I’ve been serving the community, and now serving the county is a total blessing,” Herr said. “I look forward to serving the community and county together with love, dedication and passion. Together, we are all Osceola. I love you guys and I love my Osceola. Thank you guys for believing in me.”

Through the Osceola Response Team, Herr has worked to support the community for nearly three years, helping local residents and stepping up when families and neighbors need assistance. His latest appointment gives him an opportunity to continue that service in a new capacity at the county level.
Herr is also currently participating in the Kissimmee Police Department Citizens Academy, continuing his efforts to learn more about the agencies and public servants working behind the scenes to keep the community running.
For Herr, the different roles all share a common thread: being involved, learning more about the community and finding ways to give back.
His appointment to the Code Enforcement Board will allow him to bring that community-focused perspective into decisions involving Osceola County neighborhoods and local code enforcement matters.
What began with simply wanting to help others has grown into nearly three years of community involvement, nonprofit leadership and now public service with Osceola County.
And Herr says his focus remains right where it started: serving the people of Osceola County and the community he proudly calls home.
iSkyNews.com will continue highlighting the people and organizations working to make a difference across Osceola County and Central Florida.
