Wisconsin Woman Arrested at Orlando International Airport After Allegedly Striking Security Guard at Davenport Resort
By Ciara Perez | iSkyNews.com
DAVENPORT, Fla. — A Wisconsin woman accused of intentionally striking a security guard with her vehicle at a Davenport vacation resort was arrested Tuesday at Orlando International Airport as she attempted to board a flight home, according to the Polk County Sheriff's Office.
The incident occurred around 9:00 p.m. on July 4, 2026, at the Windsor Island Resort on Aloha Boulevard in Davenport.
According to investigators, the victim, who works as a security guard at the gated condominium resort, reported that a woman driving a gray Chrysler Pacifica attempted to enter the property but was stopped at the entrance gate because she was not listed as an approved visitor and could not provide identification.
Deputies say the driver, later identified as 32-year-old Tayquanna Butler of Green Bay, Wisconsin, allegedly asked the guard, "What are you going to do if I drive through?" After being advised that forcing her way through the gate would not be a good idea, Butler allegedly accelerated through the entrance and continued onto Lana Avenue.
The security guard followed the vehicle in his patrol car and again requested identification so Butler's vehicle could be registered as a visitor. According to the Sheriff's Office, Butler responded by telling the guard he was "doing too much" and stated she was renting an Airbnb within the resort.
Investigators say the confrontation escalated when Butler allegedly asked the security guard twice, "You wanna get hit?" Moments later, she reportedly drove her vehicle into him, pinning him between the passenger side of her Chrysler Pacifica and the driver's side of the security patrol vehicle.
The security guard suffered minor injuries and sustained damage to equipment on his duty belt, while the patrol vehicle was also damaged. Butler allegedly fled the scene at a high rate of speed before deputies arrived.
Detectives with the Polk County Sheriff's Office launched an investigation and identified Butler as the suspect. Investigators also confirmed she had been renting an Airbnb at the resort from July 2 through July 6.
A warrant was issued charging Butler with:
- Aggravated Battery (Second-Degree Felony)
- Aggravated Assault with a Deadly Weapon (Third-Degree Felony)
Detectives later learned Butler was scheduled to fly back to Wisconsin from Orlando International Airport on July 7, 2026. Working with the Orlando International Airport Police Department and the Transportation Security Administration (TSA), authorities detained Butler at the airport during the check-in process.
She is currently being held at the Orange County Jail awaiting transfer to the Polk County Jail.

According to investigators, Butler's criminal history includes previous arrests in Wisconsin for disorderly conduct and domestic abuse.
Sheriff Grady Judd criticized Butler's actions following the arrest.
"You're not going to come into Polk County and act the way you do back home, disobeying not just the laws of decorum but the laws of our state. All this woman had to do was show some ID and register her car at the resort where she was staying. Now she's facing two felonies and is locked up in jail."
The investigation remains active.
