POLK COUNTY, Fla. — The Polk County Sheriff’s Office has abruptly ended its long-standing healthcare services agreement with correctional medical provider YesCare after the company filed for bankruptcy, prompting an immediate transition to a new provider to maintain inmate medical care.

According to the Sheriff’s Office, YesCare had served as the primary healthcare provider for the Polk County Jail for 33 years. However, after the company filed for bankruptcy protection on May 8, 2026, PCSO leadership determined the filing represented a breach of the existing healthcare services agreement and raised concerns about the company’s ability to continue reliably serving jail inmates.

Effective Friday morning, YesCare was officially notified that its contract with the Polk County Sheriff’s Office had been terminated.

To prevent any interruption in inmate healthcare services, the Sheriff’s Office moved quickly to contract with CFG Health Systems, a correctional healthcare provider that began assuming medical operations immediately.

As part of the transition, existing healthcare staff members who have been serving inmates at the Polk County Jail will remain in their positions, helping provide continuity of care and preserving institutional knowledge during the changeover.

“Throughout this transition, our healthcare professionals have demonstrated their ethical and moral commitment to providing quality care to Polk County jail inmates,” said Sheriff Grady Judd. “I am thankful for their steadfast professionalism.”
