DAVENPORT, Fla.  A large residential fire destroyed a home and ignited a nearby brush fire Sunday afternoon on Parker Road in Davenport, prompting a major response from fire and law enforcement agencies.

The fire was reported at 218 Parker Road shortly before 2:00 p.m., according to dispatch information. Multiple units from Polk County Fire Rescue were dispatched to the scene as flames consumed the structure and spread into surrounding brush.

iSkyNews.com reporters spoke with a nearby neighbor who confirmed that everyone inside the home was able to exit the structure safely. No injuries were reported, though officials confirmed the home is a total loss.

Fire crews cut power to the residence as a safety precaution while working to control the fire. Due to limited access to the brush area, firefighters were forced to cut nearby fencing to allow a brush truck to reach the fire, enabling crews to fully extinguish the flames and prevent further spread.

The Polk County Sheriff’s Office responded to assist with traffic control and scene safety as firefighters continued suppression efforts.

As of the latest update, the incident remained active while crews worked to extinguish hot spots and secure the area. The cause of the fire has not yet been released.

iSkyNews.com will continue to monitor this developing situation and provide updates as more information becomes available.
