Polk County Burn Ban Remains in Effect; Personal Fireworks Still Not Allowed
Polk County Fire Rescue is reminding residents that the county-wide burn ban is still in effect, and that includes a ban on personal-use fireworks.
According to Polk County Fire Rescue, dry conditions across the county continue to create a higher risk for brush and wildfire. Because of that, setting off noncommercial fireworks — the kind often used at home for celebrations — is not allowed while the burn ban remains in place.
Fire officials say professional fireworks shows, put on by municipalities and permitted under safety guidelines, will still be allowed during the ban.
“We know people want to celebrate, but these restrictions are in place to help keep our communities and first responders safe,” fire officials said.
Residents are encouraged to review the full list of affected municipalities and details on prohibited fires by visiting the Polk County website:

The burn ban will remain active until weather and ground conditions improve.
