Serious Crash on I-4 in Davenport: Semi-Truck Slams Into Car, One Transported in Critical Condition

DAVENPORT, Fla. (iSkyNews.com) — Emergency crews responded to a violent crash early Sunday morning after a semi-truck slammed into the rear of a car on Interstate 4 westbound near mile marker 57 in Davenport according to Polk County Fire Rescue.
The collision happened around 3:31 a.m., leaving behind heavy wreckage and forcing the closure of at least two westbound lanes, causing major traffic delays as the investigation continues.
According to officials, one person was transported by ground to Lakeland Hospital as a Trauma Code in serious condition following the crash.
First responders from Polk County Fire Rescue and the Florida Highway Patrol (FHP) remain on scene, working to clear the damaged vehicles and debris scattered across the highway.
Drivers traveling through the area should expect long delays and are urged to use extreme caution, reduce speed, and move over for emergency personnel.
