HAINES CITY, Fla. (October 6, 2025) — A skateboarder was hospitalized late Monday night after being struck by a vehicle near downtown Haines City.
According to emergency radio traffic and 911 call logs, the incident occurred at approximately 10:02 p.m. at the intersection of 6th Street North and Main Street East. A caller reported a traffic accident involving a vehicle and a pedestrian on a skateboard.
Units from Haines City Fire Department, including Battalion Chief 1, Engine 1, and Medical Rescues 230 and 1, arrived on scene and located the victim — a 30-year-old male — lying in the roadway. Fire personnel confirmed the man was conscious and breathing upon arrival.
Due to the nature of the incident, a medical helicopter was placed on standby, though it was not used. The patient was transported by ambulance to a local hospital for further evaluation and treatment.
The identity of the victim has not been released, and the extent of his injuries remains unclear at this time.
Haines City Police and other local authorities are investigating the circumstances of the collision.
Motorists were urged to avoid the area while emergency crews secured the scene.
