ORANGE COUNTY, Fla. (October 6, 2025) — A man riding an electric bicycle was killed early Monday morning following a multi-vehicle crash on Epcot Center Drive near Interstate 4, according to the Florida Highway Patrol (FHP).

The crash occurred around 6:40 a.m. on State Road 536 (Epcot Center Drive) west of I-4. FHP investigators say a 40-year-old man from Orlando, operating an electric bicycle, was traveling westbound ahead of a 2016 Honda Civic, which was followed by a 2018 Ford Fusion and a 2021 Toyota Camry.

According to the preliminary investigation, the bicyclist moved into the direct path of the oncoming Civic. The driver of the Civic — a 57-year-old woman from Orlando — was unable to avoid a collision and struck the bicycle. The impact triggered a chain reaction, causing the Civic to collide with the Fusion, which then collided with the Camry.

The bicyclist was transported to AdventHealth Celebration Hospital, where he was pronounced deceased. FHP confirms that he was not wearing a helmet at the time of the crash. His next of kin has been notified.

The driver of the Civic sustained minor injuries and was also taken to AdventHealth Celebration. The other drivers — a 63-year-old man from Saint Cloud, a 30-year-old man, and a 24-year-old male passenger (both from Orlando) — were uninjured and remained on the scene.

FHP continues to investigate the circumstances leading up to the fatal crash. All westbound traffic in the area was temporarily delayed during the morning commute as crews cleared the scene.

This incident remains under investigation.
