Motorcyclist Killed in Crash on US-301 in Hernando County

HERNANDO COUNTY, FL – A 42-year-old Webster man tragically lost his life Saturday evening after a crash involving a Kia Sorento and a Jeep Cherokee on US-301 near Whispering Oaks Boulevard, according to the Florida Highway Patrol (FHP).

The crash happened around 7:04 p.m. on September 13, 2025.

Crash Details

FHP says a Kia Sorento, driven by a 66-year-old man from Dade City, was traveling northbound on US-301 and turned left toward Whispering Oaks Boulevard. At the same time, a Harley Davidson motorcycle was heading southbound on US-301.

As the Sorento made its turn, it crossed directly into the motorcyclist’s path. The motorcycle struck the Kia, causing the rider to be ejected. The motorcyclist then collided with a Jeep Cherokee that had been stopped behind the Kia in the left turn lane.

Troopers confirmed the 42-year-old motorcyclist died on scene from his injuries. Neither the Kia driver nor the Jeep driver were hurt in the crash.

The Florida Highway Patrol is continuing to investigate the incident and has not released the names of those involved.
