Second Blaze in a Month Destroys Mobil Gas Station off I-10 in Winnie, Texas

Winnie, TX (iSkyNews.com) – A Mobil Gas Station located at 46135 I-10 Frontage Rd in Winnie, Texas has been declared a total loss after a massive fire tore through the building Monday evening.
According to witnesses, smoke rapidly filled the inside of the gas station, forcing everyone to evacuate. Within moments, flames were seen shooting from the center and roof of the building, quickly engulfing the structure.
iSkyNews.com Reporters spoke with a Mobil Gas Station employee, who confirmed that everyone was able to evacuate safely and no injuries were reported.
A local Sheriff told reporters this marks the second time this month the gas station has caught fire. A firefighter on scene added that his station was among those called to assist.
Multiple agencies responded to the emergency, including the Anahuac Fire Department, Baytown Fire Department, and several other local fire stations in the Winnie area. Texas Highway Patrol and local Sheriffs assisted with both scene security and traffic control as crews battled the flames.
Due to the heavy response, I-10 Frontage Road was shut down coming into town, causing traffic delays in the area.
The cause of the fire remains under investigation.
