Fatal Crash on World Drive Claims Life of Lake Wales Man
Kissimmee, FL (iSkyNews.com) — A 52-year-old man from Lake Wales was killed Saturday night in a single-vehicle crash on World Drive in Osceola County, according to the Florida Highway Patrol (FHP).
The incident occurred at approximately 10:20 p.m. on August 3, near the intersection of World Drive and U.S. 192 (Irlo Bronson Memorial Highway).
Troopers say the driver was behind the wheel of a 2020 Audi A3, heading northbound on the ramp from U.S. 192 to World Drive, when he failed to navigate a right-hand curve. The vehicle veered off the roadway to the left and crashed into a concrete support column beneath the overpass.
The driver, who was wearing a seatbelt at the time of the crash, was pronounced dead at the scene. His identity has not been released pending notification of next of kin.
No other vehicles were involved, and no passengers were reported in the car.
The crash remains under investigation by the Florida Highway Patrol.
