Duo Accused of Stealing High-End Appliances to Fund Luxury Lifestyle — Including a Lamborghini Rental

Scottsdale, AZ – Two young men who allegedly stole over $100,000 worth of luxury kitchen appliances from homes in Scottsdale and Paradise Valley are now behind bars—after investigators say they used the stolen goods to fund a lavish lifestyle that included renting a Lamborghini for three days.

According to Scottsdale Police22-year-old Aiden Cornish and 20-year-old Trent Kennedy were arrested on July 23after detectives linked them to five residential burglariesthree in Scottsdale between July 14 and July 22, and two in Paradise Valley on June 13 and June 15.

The suspects reportedly targeted unoccupied homes and stole high-end appliances and furnishings. Police say that after one of the Scottsdale burglaries, Cornish and Kennedy used the money to rent a Lamborghini, even posting videos of themselves driving at high speeds on local freeways.

The case broke open after two homes near Dynamite Boulevard and Alma School Road were burglarized overnight between July 13 and July 14. Detectives noticed similarities with two earlier burglaries in Paradise Valley, prompting cooperation between the two departments. Surveillance and photo radar images captured a black GMC truck near one of the crime scenes—registered to Cornish.

Through further investigation, Trent Kennedy was identified as the passenger in the vehicle. On June 15, the truck and trailer were seen leaving Paradise Valley loaded with stolen appliances and furniture.

Cornish and Kennedy were also tied to a July 22 burglary near Shea Boulevard and 131st Street, with traffic cameras again showing the GMC truck and trailer hauling away stolen property. That same night, police tracked the vehicle to Cornish’s home in Tempe.

The next morning, on July 23 around 9 a.m., detectives saw Cornish transporting stolen goods to a Phoenix storage facility. He was arrested without incidentKennedy was arrested later that day around 3 p.m.

During interviews, Kennedy admitted that Cornish handled the sales and paid him for helping steal the items. He also confirmed they used the stolen money to rent a Lamborghini, which was backed up by social media posts.

After executing several search warrants, officers recovered appliances from the July 22 burglary, but much of the stolen property was still missing. That changed on August 1, when detectives searched a Phoenix storage unit and found 10 stolen appliances valued at around $65,000, directly tied to the earlier burglaries.

Both men were booked on multiple burglary charges, and Cornish faces an additional charge of trafficking in stolen property.

“The collaboration between Paradise Valley Police and Scottsdale Police was instrumental in the capture of these two suspects,” said Scottsdale Assistant Chief of Police Chris Watson. “By combining new technology with good old-fashioned information sharing, we’re making it harder for criminals to get away with this kind of behavior.”

Detectives are now working to return the stolen appliances to their rightful owners.
