8/19/2025 - UPDATE: Suspect hospitalized after armed threat against ex-girlfriend and teen
Buckeye Police say the investigation continues after a violent encounter left a suspect critically injured last night.
Around 8:30 p.m. on August 18, officers responded to reports of shots fired on Shooting Star Ln. Investigators say the suspect, a man in his 50s, went to his ex-girlfriend’s home despite an active order of protection. He reportedly threatened her and fired at a teenage male inside the home before fleeing in a truck.
Shortly after, police received reports of a crash near Maricopa Rd and Sunset Point Blvd. At the scene, officers found the suspect injured on the ground with a gun nearby. Detectives later learned the teen had encountered the suspect again in the area. According to police, the suspect got out of his truck and pointed a gun at the teen, who then struck the man with his vehicle to protect himself.
The suspect was transported to the hospital with life-threatening injuries. No arrests have been made.
According to the Buckeye Police Department, the investigation remains ongoing.
