📸 Images from the scene show massive flames erupting into the sky, smoke plumes covering U.S. 60, and aircraft dropping red fire retardant to create crucial firebreaks. Emergency response vehicles from ADOT and other agencies lined the highway shoulder while fire crews worked in high heat to contain the blaze.

Fortunately, no structures have been reported lost, and no injuries have been confirmed as of this report. The rapid aerial attack played a critical role in preventing further spread, with tankers making repeated retardant drops along the fire's edge.

As of now, containment efforts remain ongoing, and crews are expected to continue their operations through the week to secure hot spots and assess fire lines.

Motorists traveling through the area should remain alert for intermittent traffic delays and closures on U.S. 60 as response teams continue their work.

🙏 Thank you to our first responders who keep us safe — your dedication and bravery are truly appreciated.
