Deceased Male Discovered at Mesa Bus Stop — No Foul Play Suspected
Mesa, AZ (July 3, 2025) — Authorities are investigating the death of an adult male who was found unresponsive at a bus stop near Southern Avenue and Gilbert Road in Mesa on Thursday morning. According to the Mesa Police Department, officers were dispatched to the scene at approximately 10:00 AM.
Upon arrival, officers located a male subject who was pronounced deceased at the scene. The Maricopa County Medical Examiner responded to assist with the investigation, and Mesa Police's Forensic Services Crime Scene Unit also arrived to document the area.
Images from the scene show multiple Mesa Police vehicles, including patrol cars and a forensic services van. Police crime scene tape was strung across portions of the gas station plaza sidewalk and the bus stop, while detectives and forensic personnel worked the scene.
The Medical Examiner’s office was seen entering and exiting the area throughout the late morning hours. A white Maricopa County vehicle labeled "Medical Examiner" was parked with its rear hatch open, indicating an active recovery.
At this time, officials say no foul play is suspected in the death. However, the exact cause of death remains unknown pending further examination by the medical examiner.
There are no ongoing road closures or restrictions at the location, and the scene was cleared later in the day.
