Ormond Beach Man Arrested After Driving 102mph on I-4 with Two Young Children

Polk County, FL - A man from Ormond Beach was arrested last Tuesday afternoon after driving over 100 mph on Interstate 4 in Polk County—with two small children riding in the vehicle.

🚔 According to the Polk County Sheriff's Office (PCSO), a deputy conducted a traffic stop just east of Polk City at approximately 1:00 PM on July 15, after clocking a gray 2024 Toyota SUV traveling 102 mph.

The driver was identified as 26-year-old Christian Jovanni Agosto, who was making a return trip home from Tampa. Inside the SUV were two children, ages 6 and 7.

🕵️‍♂️ Further Investigation Reveals Alarming Details Deputies learned during the stop that:

  • Agosto has never been issued a valid driver’s license
  • He is a registered gang member
  • He is currently on Federal Probation for Possession of a Firearm by a Convicted Felon

📛 Charges and Custody Actions Agosto was arrested and taken to Polk County Jail, where he was charged with:

  • Dangerous Excessive Speed (M2)
  • No Valid Driver’s License (M2)
  • Child Neglect without Injury (F3, 2 counts)

📍 The Florida Department of Children & Families (DCF) was immediately notified. The children and the vehicle were released to a relative of the children.

📣 PCSO officials emphasized the seriousness of the situation and the risks posed to both minors and other motorists.
