MESA, Ariz. – An aircraft experienced an in-flight emergency with an engine out this morning, prompting an emergency response at Falcon Field Airport. The plane, identified as a Piper Twin Comanche B (PA30), ultimately made a safe landing, with its two occupants unharmed.
Mesa Fire & Medical officials confirmed they received a call from the control tower at approximately 9:05 a.m., advising of the distressed aircraft. The pilot reported an engine failure, initiating a full emergency protocol for the airport, located in Mesa.
The Piper Twin Comanche B is a twin-engine aircraft, and at the time of the incident, it reportedly had three hours of fuel remaining. Despite the critical nature of an engine-out situation, particularly for a twin-engine aircraft, the pilot successfully brought the plane down without further incident.
Emergency crews were on standby as the aircraft approached, ready to respond to any potential issues. The successful landing is a testament to the pilot's skill and the readiness of airport and emergency personnel. There were no reported injuries to the two individuals aboard the aircraft.
