CITRUS COUNTY, FL – A 69-year-old man from Beverly Hills was hospitalized with non-life-threatening injuries after an alleged impaired driving incident led to a single-vehicle crash in Citrus County on the afternoon of Friday, May 30, 2025, according to the Florida Highway Patrol (FHP).
The FHP report states the accident occurred at approximately 2:55 PM. The man was driving a Chevy Camaro southbound on North Forest Ridge Boulevard. North of West Casurina Place, the driver failed to properly negotiate a curve in the roadway.
The Camaro subsequently veered off the road, entering the grass median where it struck a tree. The vehicle didn't stop there; it continued, rotating onto a sidewalk and ultimately colliding with a pedestrian handrail before coming to a halt.
The driver, whom FHP indicated was impaired, was the sole occupant of the vehicle. He was transported to an area hospital for treatment of his injuries.
The Florida Highway Patrol is investigating the specifics of the driver's impairment. No other individuals were reported injured in the incident, which FHP classified as an injury crash.
