CHANDLER, AZ (November 5, 2026) — Chandler Police detectives are asking for the public’s help identifying drivers who may have been involved in a fatal Halloween night collision that claimed the life of a 27-year-old man who had stepped away from a party to get some fresh air.
According to the Chandler Police Department, officers responded to reports of a man lying in the roadway near South Gilbert Road and East Amanda Boulevard at approximately 10:24 p.m. on Saturday, October 31, 2026.
When officers arrived, they discovered 27-year-old Cajuan Harris suffering from serious injuries. Several witnesses and bystanders were already at the scene, providing information to responding officers.
Emergency personnel performed lifesaving measures before transporting Harris to a nearby hospital, where he later died from his injuries.
Investigators determined that Harris had recently attended a Halloween party and told friends he was going for a walk to get some air.
A short time later, Harris was struck by at least one vehicle.
Police said a passing motorist stopped and attempted to prevent additional collisions by standing in the median and waving at approaching traffic to warn drivers.
Based on witness interviews, detectives believe Harris may have been struck by additional vehicles whose drivers did not remain at the scene.
Police confirmed that another driver involved in the incident stayed at the location and spoke with investigators. That driver showed no signs of impairment and has been cooperating with the investigation.
Detectives are now working to identify any other vehicles and drivers who may have been involved in the collision, including those who left the area before officers arrived.
Police Asking Witnesses to Come Forward
The Chandler Police Department is urging anyone who may have witnessed the incident or has information about vehicles that struck Harris to contact investigators.
