APACHE JUNCTION, AZ (November 5, 2026) — The Apache Junction Police Department is asking for the public's help identifying a woman and the location shown in a photograph discovered during an ongoing criminal investigation involving a man accused of kidnapping and assaulting an 18-year-old woman.

According to police, the photograph is connected to an investigation involving 32-year-old Pedro A. Espinoza Torres, who was arrested on September 25, 2026, in connection with the alleged kidnapping and assault of an 18-year-old woman in Apache Junction.

Torres faces eight felony charges, including kidnapping, aggravated assault, sexual abuse, and first-degree burglary.

Investigators believe the photograph was taken on July 18, 2026, at approximately 7:30 p.m. The image appears to have been captured from outside a window, looking into a room.

The photograph shows a woman believed to be between 14 and 25 years old, with dark blonde or light brown hair extending just below her shoulders. She is seen lying on her side on the floor, wearing denim shorts and a gray T-shirt while playing a board game with another person whose identity is also unknown.

Police have intentionally blurred the woman's appearance to protect her privacy and are asking the public to focus on identifying the room rather than the individual.

Detectives Hope Someone Recognizes the Room

Investigators believe several distinctive objects visible in the photograph could help someone recognize the location.

Among the items police want the public to look for are a large black shag-style rug, green Crocs-style shoes, a Sorry! board game, light-colored flooring, dark furniture, and a rolling cart positioned against the far wall.

A yellow Tidy Cats litter container and a clear plastic jug can also be seen near the window.

Detectives hope someone familiar with the room, its furnishings, or the surrounding property may be able to provide information that helps identify where the photograph was taken.

Suspect Previously Worked as Rideshare Driver

According to Apache Junction Police, Torres was living in Apache Junction at the time of his arrest and worked as a rideshare driver, frequently traveling throughout the Phoenix metropolitan area.

Because of his travel throughout the Valley, investigators have not determined where the photograph was taken.

Detectives are attempting to identify both the person pictured and the location as they work to determine whether any additional criminal activity may have occurred.

Authorities have not publicly established that the person in the photograph was a victim of a crime.

Police Asking Anyone With Information to Come Forward

Anyone who recognizes the room or objects in the photograph, or who may have information about the location, is encouraged to contact the Apache Junction Police Department.

Apache Junction Police Department: (480) 474-8585

Reference Case Number: 260924013

Callers are asked to leave a detailed message, and a detective will return their call.

Police are also reminding the public not to identify or speculate about the woman pictured on social media. Anyone with potential information should share it directly with investigators to protect the individual's privacy and the integrity of the investigation.

Torres is presumed innocent unless and until proven guilty in a court of law.
